The A Day Project

Is it a special day today? Every day is a special day, but today this site is harvesting photos. Your photos. My photo too, or two, which I just uploaded. It's all part of a social experiment, people all over the world taking a picture of the day as it is today. So I'm helping spread the world, it's easy to upload, go go go! :)

Numbers In XML Tags

I created a simple script in which you could interact with an AI through a chat a few years ago. All phrases and questions were stored in an XML document, but suddenly I ran into some trouble, the script just wouldn't work. I remember I spent quite some time trying to find errors in the code structure, but I never found it, so the work was discontinued and stashed away. I picked it back up again today and it turns out I had been using numbers at the start of a series of XML tags. If you work with XML you should know that tags can't start with a number, so I've been doing some restructuring, and hey, it works again! Check out the script in the stuff directory. Or you could just click this link. The vocabulary is still a bit limited, but at least it works. :)

How Secure is HowSecureIsMyPassword.net?

How Secure Is My Password?

I stumbled upon an interesting site today. It lets you type in a password, which it then evaluates, and if it's not secure they can even provide you with a new one. I would love to type in one of my passwords and find out, but the question is, can I really trust HowSecureIsMyPassword.net? What if they harvest all passwords people type in? What if the whole service is in fact a front for the US government? What if? So I tried a few passwords that I don't use. First one: pass.

Not Long To Crack

Ok, so that was obvious, how about 457gDSFh (randomly typed just now)?

10 Days To Crack!

No symbol? Alright, same thing with a symbol then...

12 Years To Crack!

Wow! Really? Does an added ! add the much difficulty? I'm wondering how factual this service really is, and the previous password didn't have a single word in it either. Interesting service though. If you feel like checking it out: the URL is in the title. ;)

Google Chrome

You're Awesome! Thanks for trying Google Chrome.

Thank you. :) Now back to FireFox...

Heinrich Hertz 115th Birthday

Heinrich Hertz Google

Think of all the things you would miss if Google wasn't out there subliminally informing us about them? Things like Heinrich Hertz 155th birthday for example, which is today. For those who don't know, Hertz is a radio frequency. So Happy Birthday Hertz! Wherever you be.
