I Know IT

Took a quick quiz on the latest IT news at IDG today, and you better believe it, I made it to the highscores. :) I haven't been reading any news lately, haven't touched a newspaper in weeks, haven't browsed through any websites online either, just guessed through the answers so it's a nice surprise, hehe, evidence below.

I Know IT

WTH? Where Did This Come From?

List Of Mysterious Files

This list of files just popped up in a directory of mine for no reason. I took the screencap a while back to post about it, but now I can't seem to remember which directory it was or what I was doing when it happened. Regardless, it's pretty stupid, wonder which program it was that bugged up like this?

Corrupt Pokemon Yellow

A few months back, or more, I tried trading a Pokemon through the Yellow to Gold game. It didn't work, and discouraged as I was I stopped playing the game for a while. Picked it up yesterday to continue my quest in Pokemon yellow and believe it or not, the Pokemon I tried to trade is corrupt!

Corrupt how, you ask? Well it shows up as a mess of black and white pixels in battle, indistinguishable, and when you try viewing it in the profile it shows up at nothing as all. It has one attack, though I'm pretty sure it had more earlier, and the ID, EXP, etc fields are all completely empty. To top it off, it has no name, and shows up as a completely blank space below all the Pokemon I carry. If I switch it with one of the top Pokemon in the list, all Pokemon below it show up as blank!

I'm pretty sure the Pokemon I was trying to trade was an Ivysaur, which means I won't be able to get all 150 Pokemon unless I start a new game. I've already caught more than a third of all Pokemon though so that just seems like a big waste of time and effort. Also, I've tried transferring the Pokemon to Bills PC to make room for more Pokemon, but it won't work. I can't move it, and since it's not in the box I can't release it either. To make things worse, it shows up as poisoned (maybe that's why it went corrupt when I tried to trade? IDK), and for every few steps I take the screen flashes.

I've been to the PC, it won't heal. Nor can I give it an antidote, so that sucks. Though on the bright side it'll give me a pretty good handicap, one slot less in the space for Pokemon to carry, so if I really complete the game sometime in a distant future, that would be pretty sweet. On an unrelated note, why doesn't Vaporeon accept the thunderstone? Anyhow, that's all for my Pokemon adventures this year, I probably won't be playing the game again in a long time.

Restraint & TorrentDay

So much for the restraint. :P I'm at the verge of finishing course 2/6 though. It WILL be done before I go to sleep tonight, and course 3/6 WILL be finished before I go to sleep tomorrow. And then we will see what happens after that.

On a sidenote, I found my favorite torrent site yet just recently, it's Torrent Day. They give you 5GB upload credits upon registration, have a good deal of free leach torrents, and give you bonus points if you seed, even if you don't upload, it seems like something I could become addicted to, even too addicted too, hmm, but not right now though, I have other things on my mind.

Harmonee JS Experiment

Played around with Harmonee today, a little JS tool that lets you paint things online.

Dotted

There are about twelve different paintbrushes, circles, squares, and then ten normal ones. You can see a quick artistry with the circles above ... great for making background textures, etc.

CybeR

Here's a quick sketch I made for CyberD with the ribbon brush. There's a color palette so you can change colors, and you can save your work when your done as a PNG, or just clear it and start over again, the controls are really simple. Found this on the Chrome Experiments page, and the actual project page is right here. Have fun! ;)

Today, Yesterday, Now, Busy Busy, Donkey Kong Land III, Etc

Donkey Land III, Ha! I beat it! Turns out there was a secret passage in the coral level after all, just a barrel through a peak of reef, I went through two seconds before time up and I was awarded with a "Congratulations, you beat the game!" screen and a trophy with the text 103% on it. Feels good. :)

I played through Hasbro Pong too, a little GBC game with four levels, my first GBC game actually. It feels a bit too easy now, didn't take me more than half an hour to beat the game in both easy and hard mode. Buddy Bear keeps nagging on about how I should buy a Wii or DS, stay with the flow, go 3D, but right now I'm thinking more about buying Donkey Kong Land II, cause it's so damn fun haha. Who needs new technology when the old one works better? ;)

A thought just struck me, have I made it a habit of ending each paragraph with a smiley? Hope not. :P

So after playing through the game yesterday I tried sleeping, only I couldn't sleep. I should probably have stayed by the computer and finished the assignment I was working on because that was all I could think about. I'm working on the assignment right now, an interactive flash production, it'll probably keep me up till about eleven, is my guess, there's not so much remaining on it now. It's the last assignment for my 'Interactive Design III' course, and after I'm done with that I'm diving straight into the last assignment of the 'Digital Photography' course, and after I'm done will that, well, hopefully there's time left to complete two more courses (on which more than one assignment remain) before I leave sometime the week after.

Right now I'm procrastinating. I'm writing this instead of getting the assignment done, even though it's fun stuff. I've always liked designing things, but anyway, I'd better get back to work. Posted a whole batch of blogs yesterday, a full 34, they're scheduled so I'll still be online during summer even though I probably won't be touching a computer more than for an hour or two every week or so. Summer vacation, aaaah (that was a relaxing sigh, not a scream, JSYK), looking forward to it.

Ok, back to work. Actually I'm going to watch a movie now, A Fistful Of Dollars, old western classic with Clint Eastwood from 1964. I'm not sure if I've seen it before, I know I've watched the other two in the trilogy, but they were both friggin amazing so this should be fun. After that dinner's waiting. After that there's work. Then there's sleep. Then there's more work.

If I can restrain myself I won't be posting until everything's sorted out, so until then, chao.
