Ö, Last Visit

Last time in Överkalix this year, sad, I'm looking forward to the coming summer already. The rain is occasionally sprinkling down upon us today but it's fortunately the only waterfalling day this week, and as long as the sun shines it's as warm as it was in July, woo. Still managing to swim a bit every day even though it's freezing as hell. Andreas stopped by the day before yesterday and managed to survive a quarter hour in the icy water. Brr-r-r-r-r. I said I'd be swimming every day in August so today's the last day, but I doubt I'll be able to keep out of the water for the next seven days anyway.

Ohp, no time to write now, I'll be here to post a post at latest the 13th, that's when the broadband once again arrives after the summer hiatus. And if you're wondering the 32 Wad posts are all automatic, it's not like I've had time to post them every seven days for the past many seven day sessions. Later.

Here's the game pack 16. Had time to play through the other ones yet? How about one of them? :P In all honesty I haven't played through more than two of them. I'd be happy to play more, but time doesn't exist for it, there are other things I'm even happier to do. Nothing better than a cup of warm cocoa on a rainy day though ... and a few new levels for Doom 2. Download is below, as always. See the Doom page for more. Enjoy!

Back To Ö

Mhm, back since a few minutes ago, with the latest of news.

The pedal to my brand new black BMW ... eh, bike, broke. So we brought it back with us and had it sledgehammered (wooden sledgehammer) back on, probably some factory error, if it falls off again within two years the whole apparatus will be sent back and a new one delivered. I've had the same thing happen with both of the two new bikes I bought within the past two years, but never with one of the old bicycles I've been riding furiously on through savage woodland terrain for the past fifteen years. Things don't get better. Shame they started using soft metal instead of the hardcore steel they used earlier.

I didn't manage to finish the timbered shed this short visit, but I took it all down and put it back up again with large 10cm nails to enforce last summers traditional wooden plugs, then I nailed the two sides of a split timber (split by hand with a gigantic (150cm long) antique saw in about three hours of sweat tears but fortunately no blood) to the front of the building for further re-enforcement.

When I was hammering a nail in place, standing right in front of the nail being hammered, it recoiled like a ninja star and made a little dent about a centimeter to the left of my left eye, woah, scary, could've made me blind if my left eye was two centimeters more to the left! I shielded my eyes a bit while commencing the hammering in of all the remaining nails. JSYK a nail ricochet (however you spell that) travels much faster than you'd imagine, no time to blink even. Or maybe I was just a bit slow due to no intake of morning-caffeine.

Checked email. Checked uptime. Posting post. So todays computering must-dos are done! Yay! Woohoo! Strange that what takes me about eight hours a minimum each day during winter just takes me an hour/week on summer. There must be a message there, lmao. Printed out my ticket too, and signed up for this semesters two creative writing and web design courses. I'll be leaving in about two weeks and I know I shouldn't, but I'm looking forward to the move, maybe because my parents will be staying up here for another month while I handle the house solo. :P

Later.

Överkalix - Kangos

Stopping by at Överkalix on route to Kangos where I'll be renovating an old wooden boat and finishing the timbered wooden shed I started working on last year. I built it with only a hand-driven drill and an axe, and it's a work of art, though not really as stable as I'd like it to be. :O So ... this years finalizing build consists of subliminal reinforcements on all four sides and then a roof to top it off, will post a picture to let you all see the masterpiece when it's ready. ;)

The weather up here has been cloudy the past few days with a few H20 drops falling down every now and then but no real rain, before that it's been sunnier than you'd ever believe despite cold winds blowing from the north reminding us all that fall will soon be arriving. I spent a lot of time outside and in four days I more than doubled the previous levels of suntan gained, much to my surprise. The nighs however are coooold and water is about 15C, which is a bit lower than I'd like it, but since I've been almost every day since the beginning of July I'll force myself to keep going at least until September, lmao.

Apart from the project ideas posted earlier in this post I'll probably be working with a lot of wood, and building a little building for the boat, if time allows, which isn't likely, be back in five days or less to let you know about the latest happenings and events. Later.
