GTA SA, Can't Start Again!

Bwahahahaaaaa

I wanna play GTA! SA!

It's no doubt one of the best games I ever laid my hands on and I don't believe a single second I spent on the game was a wasted second. Well, maybe the many seconds I spent integrating a few hundred car mods into the game, since the attempt crashed the game completely and I had failed to make any decent backups. Those seconds were indeed very wasted.

The time I've spent playing the game however is unforgettable.

I want to play GTA 4, even though I don't believe it can be any better (other than in terms of graphic) than the previous game I cherished so, but my computer won't let me.

When it comes to new very demanding three dimensional games my computer sucks.

The second-best choice is obviously to pick up my now pretty old copy of GTA SA and start playing again, but my computer won't let me do this either.

When it comes to old very demanding three dimensional games my computer sucks.

I still have the old computer, which sucks, but when it comes to playing GTA SA it beats my new PC in a flash! It's not fast. It's not past XP, and it's very very loud compared the new one, but it can play GTA SA, and for that I'm very thankful.

The problem is that I plugged keyboard and mouse and monitor to the new computer and stashed the old one away, which isn't really such a big problem, but bringing back the old PC just to play GTA SA just seems a bit stupid. Which still isn't really a problem, but reason enough for me to not play GTA SA.

I've been thinking about upgrading my old PC, getting a new graphics card or something, but I think it would be better to upgrade my new computer or get a whole new computer instead. I don't think there would be such a big difference in price, either.

Now, buying a new computer is a tempting thought indeed, and if I didn't have any economical limitations I would instantly get myself a new box and start playing GTA SA immediately! Oh, wait, if I get a new box I might as well start playing GTA 4 while I'm at it, why play out the old game once more when there's a new one in line?

I want to get back to modding GTA SA as well, complete the mastermod, make a compilation of cars and buildings and all kinds of things so great the like hasn't been seen in a thousand lifetimes.

But I don't have time for that.

Actually I don't have time to pick up my old copy of GTA SA and play through that either, much less attempt to play through the new GTA 4 which would undoubtedly take more time since I haven't already played through it a gazillion times. So, no GTA SA or GTA 4 or GTA modding for me, at least not now.

No new computer either, bwaahahaaaaa. Bummer.

A Cold Keeps Chasing Me

But I won't let it catch me!!

What Happened After, The Over & Out

Did the broadband connection give up on me? Did it last the next day? I know you've all been dying to know, or not, but I thought I should let you know regardless that it did indeed fade away into oblivion during the night following my blogpost. Shame, since I was really kind of hoping that it wouldn't. I didn't make any plans for the day after or anything like that, but I still would've liked being able to accomplish some more, work on my site some more, answer an email I sent that no doubt I've received an answer for right now but won't be able to read or respond to for at least three more days (do I not chose to visit the library and use their computer, but I think I won't, I'll stay offline instead).

Obviously since my Internet is down you won't be reading this post until long after I'm gone and away and up in the northern norths of Sweden enjoying summer fully and all that it brings with it, but still, I felt like writing a little, so here I am sitting by the computer with no Internet feeling a bit awkward since I really am used to always being able to use the world wide web at my full disposal. Simple things like looking up an abbreviation on Google, translating a word, writing a blog, browsing through some new images and 4chan, all of those things that I frequently used to do and can no longer be done leave me feeling ... happy.

Really. I don't miss the net at all, it feels strange indeed, but I can live without it, I don't feel handicapped now that I don't see my typos highlighted in red or green text or can't see Googles new bright logo anywhere near, I feel a bit relieved. Actually I feel really tired, and I have had a heavy head all day today too, it's the stress that's settled, my systems in an inner turmoil at the moment, I need to go to bed early and sleep out of it, and of course spend less time by the computer. Yeah, right, like that's ever going to happen.

As you may imagine I am indeed sitting here right now, it's not like everything I do is online, there are still plenty of things that need working out right here on my computer. Files that need sorting, files that I feel like going through, pictures I haven't seen in ages, maybe I'll even have time to popon a new wallpaper on the computer. I've been using the default one since I got the computer, which is over half a year now, so it's about time. Plenty of games to play, poetry to write, pictures to draw, music to make, there's never nothing, always something.

I can't believe there are people in this world bored, right now, how can you be? Do you not have any imagination? How about visions? Dreams? Talents? Dedication? Meh, I guess all our personalities differ, at least I don't feel like I have time to rest, I'm restless, I rest less, hehe. I'll see you all after summer, and you'll all see this blog then too!

Sayonara for now!

Pokemon Yellow

Beat the game, woo, that's all. Feels great. Feels amazing. It took a while but I made it! Actually it didn't take that long, I took a look at the playing time (how can I miss it when it's right on the title screen every time I boot up the game) and it was around 36 hours, this excluding the times I've skipped saving due to failed battles, but there haven't been that many of those. Only at the very end, while fighting my way through Pokemon league with all Pokemon under level 55 and only two potions in my bag of items did things become a bit tricky. I had to save before each contestant and restart the game if things didn't work out, like if my Pokemon kept missing attacks and getting killed or being hypnotized before he even had a chance.

At the final level I thought it was tricky enough with all Pokemon injured fighting the dragon tamer Lance, but I managed to switch Pokemon perfectly and kill all except Dragonite in a single hit! With only two Pokemon in stable condition, a Snorlax with about 20HP (at level 54) and Pikachu with almost full life (level 52), I had to fight Jedd. And you better believe that took a shitload of retakes! It took at least ten shutdowns and startups before Sandslash missed a slash and I had a chance to rest my Snorlax up to full health, after that it worked out fine, but a few more potions sure would have helped in the process. I won't make that mistake again.

Now that I'm done the only task left is to catch all the Pokemon, which isn't possible seeing as I've already missed mew (there's a bug which allows you to catch Mew apparently, I read a while ago, which is just at the beginning of the game, catching Mew in the wild is virtually impossible, he's so rare he doesn't really exist, and you get a 'All Pokemon Caught' certificate even without catching him). But there is still Mewto and two legendary birds hiding in their caves, a few others I haven't caught yet, and some I'll need to trade to get. After summer I'll be buying a couple of Pokemon games and another GameBoy color so I can trade between games and get all on all games pretty quickly. :) Maybe even trade over most Pokemon from the current Yellow to another Yellow, they're already Pokedexed anyway, it would be like having a backup, haha.

But is that going over the line? IDK, Pokemon games are all cheap as hell right now anyway, not the new ones, but the old ones sell at between $5-10, used, obviously. It's worth it as long as the save file isn't corrupt. One of my Pokemon is corrupt from a failed trade between my GBC and my GBA btw, if it's that or incompatibility between games I don't know, or the cable is malfunctioning, but either way my Bulbasaur was corrupted and I can't use him OR get him out of my Pokemon list any longer. If I try storing him on a computer the game crashes, it's a pain in the butt, but, it's easy to forget about, I did, now I'm moving on. :)

Music Lost At NG

A little more than a year ago now, close to two years actually, my account from NG was hacked. Most of the material was backed up, but there was a lot that wasn't. Recently I've been going through the Wayback Machine picking up old blog posts of interest that I hadn't posted anywhere else and I skimmed through my submitted music as well looking for stuff I posted that are no longer to be found anymore, thought I'd post the list for reference, here it is:

  • Another Tribute to Punk-o-Matic (3)
  • Backup (4)
  • Basic Beat 1-20 (2)
  • Climin 1 (2)
  • Climax 1-2 (3)
  • Cyberstyle 1-8 (4)
  • Cycle 1-9 (3)
  • Deluded (3)
  • Distortion (3)
  • Dreamy (3)
  • Etc 1-8 (2)
  • Ease 1-9 (3)
  • Enter My Matrix (4)
  • Enter My Matrix Again (3)
  • Extreme (4)
  • Ghostish (3)
  • Hiphop Loop 1-3 (3)
  • Ledge of Monotony (2)
  • Ledge of Monotony (remix) (2)
  • Perfect 1-6 (4)
  • Powerfull 1-8 (4)

  • Tribute to Evil Dog (3)
  • Tribute to Punk-O-Matic (2)
  • Twisted Mentality (4)
  • Twisted Reality (4)
  • Your Mind (3)

The numbers within the ()s are the ratings, on average if applied to a whole series. All in all it's 70-80 tracks lost, most weren't all that great, but of course some of them were. Shame.

I lost a few flash submissions too, old ones, not important. The blogs I lost weren't of much importance either, but along with all the comments, and the reviews on the submissions. Shame again.

I can get back a big chunk of reviews and comments through the Wayback Machine, but I won't. I would if I had less. The Wayback Machine is slow (well, indexed HTML sites that try to fetch scripts and images that no longer exist are slow, the archive in itself is pretty fast) and with a few ten thousand reviews and comments to fetch it doesn't sound like a tempting idea, lmao. Remembering that I had that much once upon a time is enough for me. ;)

After Only Four Sleeping Hours

God dammidididdit. I'm just going around in circles, not really getting anywhere, getting nowhere. I see a big sign but it's blank so I type on a name but I can't find the letters.

Tis what it feels like, but maybe that's just cause I'm tired, cause I am tired. I haven't been this tired for a while now, and that's what happens, so let's just get back in, yeah ...
