Endorphin Rain

Do you ever have those days
When nothing goes your way
When you wake up early
But still can't boast you made
The best of that time
Made the time worthwhile
Not even worth a smile
For you or anybody

I sit here eating cereal
Taking care to have routines
For breakfast, lunch and dinner
My dreams go aerial, do you hear them all?
Figure out what they mean

My butt's in chair and all
All day prepared to stall
All day in here with walls
It's my atmosphere and all
My fear and fall

Looking out the window
Now, just a glimpse
The free world clouds curb
I wouldn't mind being in
Even on the rainy days you get to think
You get to spend time in the air
Mind clear and fueled by endorphins
Where should I begin

Prospect I

Prospect
In one hundred projects
If I live that long
Five years gone between the last set
And this one
Persistence - in my ambitions
Blinded by obsession
What about my visions
Will I get impressions
What do you get of this one?
10,000 CPM, maybe by the next sun
Far from done but best ones
May be done in sessions
And I never take one
I move on through regret
Step by step
Till I sit on my stoop with armrest
On my chest
When a text comes
I'll be as surprised
As when I wake up at sunrise
Feeling I'm alive

Old Folks In Slow Homes

Listen up old folks!
Pave the way for the new generation!
Don't just wait for death!
Get flagging! Get waving!
Be the flagship that gets the road to paving!
Cause all of us are stray dogs straying!
Graffiti masters spraying!
Spoiled rich kids on vacation!
Politicians dismaying with grim liaisons!
And consciousness that should weigh tons!
Why does nobody use crayons?
Scribble out a little deviance and interest!
We have all been blessed! We're all born innocent!
But then we turn grim! Obsessed! We start to rape!
Our nation or the people! Saying that we're equal!
How to we all sleep well! This life is a steep hill!
And I'm falling. My bones growing cold like stone.
Like I'm just old man in a slow home.

Of Existence

Picture this
Instant bliss
Like a cup of noodles
Just open up your eyes and sink through
The roof of depression

Life's a lesson
So what have you learned?
About obsession, about impressions
About depression - it's your turn
To feel shame. Wake up on another plane.

3 Days To Kill (2014)

3 Days To Kill (2014)

3 Days to Kill is the story of a CIA agent (played by Kevin Costner) with three months to live. With the time he has left, he decides to spend the time he never spent with his wife, and even more so with his daughter. It's a tale of bonding, but aside from that it's also a tale of death, and with that I mean the brutal murders of a great many bad guys... and maybe a few good ones as well. But the best guys, they finish last.

I haven't seen any movies with Kevin Costner in quite a while, though I grew up watching stuff like Silverado and A Perfect World, and later on stumbled upon such great things as The Untouchables and The Guardian... but it seems like a long time ago since he was really in the spotlight. Whatever happened, I'm glad he's back at doing what he does best - action! The role of Ethan Renner fits him like a second skin, and the movie is fasterfully filmed, much thanks to director McG. Yet the man behind it all is Luc Besson - it's based upon one of his stories. That must have put some pressure in directing? There's no overload of shaky cam, no supernatural pace, no pointless special effects or wire surplus. It's all really clean and professional, and apart from Kevin Amber Heard, Tómas Lemarquis and Hailee Steinfeld make some memorable appearances. And others.

The action and sunshine alike, drama intertwined with tidbits of comedy and killing - the whole spectrum of emotion, puts this movie in a category of its own. It handles family affairs with the same finesse as the darker sides (see the contrast in the cover image?), with a kind of hectic calm that keeps you glued even when the nobody's getting shot through a rooftop or decapitated by an elevator. Might turn out to be one of my favorite action movies of the year. It's nice!

In the Blood (2014)

In the Blood (2014)

If you liked Haywire, then you'll love this. It has the same actress (Gina Carano), and the same gritty, fast-paced, action-filled, down-to-Earth, violent style of filmography too. Reading her biography, it turns out she likes to fight, and has a history with Muai Thai fighting - so that's just perfect. She isn't just tough but perennially pretty, and I wish she'd star in more of these movies!

The plot is simple: Ava (that's Gina) and Derek (Cam Gigandet) get married, they go on a honeymoon on a remote island, and during a transport to the hospital after Derek falls from a zip-liner... he disappears. The police aren't willing to help, so Gina goes on a sole vendetta against the criminal underworld of the island, uncovers truths, stumbles upon allies and enemies alike and deals a whole lot of damage. It's action as it should be, gritty and great, with a clearly differentiated protagonist/antagonist, twists, twerks, fists, perks and plenty of pummeling, tumbling, stunning, shunning and a barrio laid to shambles with that one final showdown.

There are no explosions though. Maybe that says more about the movie than I can. It's realistically gritty - just like Haywire. Not that I mind flashy, fiery awesome explosions, but that's not the style of this flick, and I don't mind this either. In fact - it feels refreshing and professional and I'll probably feel the same way about the next fire-full B-movie I watch after this.:) Great movie.
