Dark Times, Stars Shine

My eyes are red and blurry
I guess that I should scurry
This aint what I am needing
Why am I in a hurry?

Not like my eyes are bleeding
But they're taking a beating
My beating heart tells me
That still I manage breathing

But sometimes I force-feed me
Sometimes late in the evening
When all I see is darkness
I feel a lack of meaning

And I never foresee this
Sudden seed of grieving
It finds me in those times
When I would be better off

In bed with a tethered cough
A clogged up nose, puffy eyebrows
Sick but resting, still I rose
To meet the day? Yes, I suppose

The evening's gray, and more so night
It's dark, it's dreary, it's depressing
It nears me without blessing, tired eyes
See the world with higher skies

With stars so far in sight.
I'm one of those who seek the light

Raajneeti (2010)

Raajneeti (2010)

I watched this movie because I was reccomended it, but it turned out way too plain. It's a... drama! There's little action, there's tension, but still somehow it all... doesn't concern me, the plot doesn't grip me that tightly. I'm assuming that political thrillers concerning exotic cultures might not be my thing, but I think it's more of the atmosphere that I don't like. It's serious, it's unfair, it's concerned. It's not the type of atmosphere I watch Bollywood movies to watch, and it doesn't have a plot that I can relate to or one that manages to either surprise, inspire or entertain me. A good movie in many aspects no doubt, but not one I particularly enjoyed. Don't take my word for it, other reviews claim it's fantastic so maybe you'd get things out of it that I didn't!

The World's End (2013)

The World's End (2013)

This movie was crazy. Crazy in a good way.

I'm not sure I liked the ending (I like the way it ends, don't get that wrong, I just feel like it was all rather sillily acted out - it had so much potential and yet it seems they just wasted it somehow). The end is really a topic I could post an entire blog about, but lets not delve into matters which transcend our understanding... like some religious people say. OK, well let me just say that I think it ends the way it ends because this is the third part in a set of three movies made by the same two directors (Simon Pegg and that other one), and it seems the endings (along with the character roles) are intentionally varied in each one. They all have a distinct twist to them, almost like there's a pattern, and this is the final one so there's more of... eh... some element of emotion that completes the pattern? Some variation to the form of surprise? Some variation to the amount of characters who survive? Also, that Cornetto part made me realize the big guy does have some awesome acting potential (plus Cornetto seems to a theme in all three moves... brand advertising I wonder?). But moving on...

The movie itself starts off rather regularly. I was actually not so hyped up about watching this movie particularly because of this deemed regularity. The movie is supposedly just about a group of friends getting back together and going for a golden mile: a run through twelve pubs total for one pint each. That sounds a bit dull, doesn't it? Well fortunately the plot is much more elaborate than that, it's a grand sci-fi conspiracy, with plenty of comedy, plenty of action, chases, drama, romance... the whole suite.

It also has a great set of characters and tons of conversation... which I'd expect would lower the entertainment value, but it's strange how British movies always manage to turn conversation to their benefit whereas other nations often make it the most boring part.

One of the things I admire with not just this movie but the two previous ones are the introductory flashbacks, which are so detailed it's like they are separate movies. Everything is filmed in a both playful and genius manner, with plenty of references to the previous two movies, and references to other general comedy along the way. It's just a blast to watch. Roles are reversed, tension builds up, characters break down, it goes one way then the other, and smack in the middle you have kids having their heads chopped of and spewing blue goo. From the very first frame till somewhere just before the end, this was a movie to enjoy! Not non-stop action mind you, but non-stop eventfulness. Great work!

A Resolution of Renovation

Over the past 3-4 years all attempts at going through everything and fixing up the site start brave and end in a few days, tops, with discouragement and a resulting lack of future effort in keeping new content organized.

I've learned a lot over the years. I know maintaining a site correctly from the start is crucial in keeping it operational, unless you fix errors along the way, and I know that fixing mistakes I've made and sorting content I stopped caring about till this point in time is no easy task, but this year I am set on doing it.

You only fail until you stop trying.

I've done that plenty of times already. I'm starting this properly this time around, taking smaller steps to go through content of the past. I started a weeks ago by going through old error pages, the about section, and tweaking the style sheet a bit for the new year. Making the site responsive is the one BIG challenge I'll be facing, but it's the content that really needs looking after. I spent a whole day on it so it's really not such a small first step after all, I always go overboard... but that's not it, I'll keep at it one day at a time, and not necessarily one complete day at a time but any time in a day that I have some time left over. Baby steps, and soon this site will once again start walking!

At times I've pondered just starting over, getting rid of everything like I used to do (mostly by mistake) in the past, and building a great site from the ground-up, but I don't really want to do that. That's the quick way out, and I'm all for a good challenge, even if I tend to give myself more work than I can handle, and add unnecessary tasks to the todo list along with all should-be priorities. Anyway, posting this after it's been a draft for a few days is a step int he right direction. :) Times will be looking up this grand 2014!

Tired & Typing

Man I feel tired. To take a rest, I'd thought I'd close my eyes for a few minutes and see if I could type at the same time, while tying to relax.

I'm not going to alter this message at all after my nap, so if I suddenly lose track of the letters on the keyboard and this all turns into some random mumbojumbo then too bad... at least so far I feel like I'm typing the right things.

Guess this means that I'm pretty proficcient at typing with my eyes closed, huh? Even after I remove my fingers from the keys and start again it seems like they automatically find their plac. That's pretty cool innit? You should try this some time, take a break yet don't let down on effincy levels at all. :) Though, this is kind of pointless, gets kinda... hard to think when you're trying to just chill, relax, eat some mental snacks, sit back, kick the hithats, you get that? It's a fax. :P

That is all.

Something For Project 2014

I sat and worked upon a Flashimation for tomorrow
When suddenly I realized that the time I had was borrowed
From time I could spend writing down a purpose or a dream
Or something more poetic, for Project 2-14

So I stood up and strolled downstairs to grab a glass of juice
And in the fridge I found some crepe of which I could not choose
Either shrimp or mushroom so I had a bit of both, and tea
The tea and me strolled up dazed and dosed

And once upon my chair again I kept on with my Flash
Delving into ideas that I'd hidden in my stash
And out sprung realizations of what I'd forgotten most
Digging into Flash again, although I'd yet to post

Something for Project 2014. So... here's something for Project 2014!
Good night.
