I am way too late posting this thing! But better late than never right? You can find the original post here, and as for my impressions on these long overdue promised sequels (which btw are not just 6 but 12 - something about how many awesome sequels there were this year)...
A Good Day To Die Hard
Yupp, it's still Die Hard! It's better than the 4th one too. I was a bit disappointed to find out McClane's son in the movie wasn't actually his real son, since for some reason I was under that impression. After-Earth was a one of a kind movie at all. This one was great though! And they did seem like father and son in the movie, so much so that I thought the occasional flaw in their acting was a sign of their real life interactions. I wrote a review here.
Monsters University
Monsters wherever they are seem like an awesome bunch, and no less in this one, where the schooling moves on to a whole new level of games and challenges. It's hard to go wrong with a franchise like this.
The World's End
Simon Pegg & Edgar Wright's creative trilogy of collaborations come to an end with this spacey pub run. It starts regular, but quickly gets pretty crazy, and though it has a lot more dialog and a lot less action than the previous movies, it's got that special ingredient that makes it oh so tasty anyway. Mad and amazing. A worthy finale.
Superman - Man Of Steel
The new Superman felt like a great reboot to the old series, though not everyone else seems to agree. Well, I enjoyed it, and that's all that matters right? Will be interesting to see if the Batman V Superman sort-of-sequel tops this.
Once Upon a Time in Shanghai
This one blew my mind. Best martial arts movie of the year, hands down. Though, the year was 2014! It was late! Arr. Review here.
Fast & Furious 6
Apart from the 7th, this might've been my favorite Fast & Furious yet. Big budget and crazy, with a charismatic cast and spectacular sceneries, in a time when Paul Walker was well and alive. Review here.
