It's another Steven Seagal movie! It's got swords. It's got guns. It's got words of wisdom and underlying morals behind the brutal violence, and between the 'Well's and 'See...'s and 'You know's, it actually has a pretty compelling cast, script and elaborate sequences of action.
At the start I wasn't sure I'd get into the groove, but the final fight changed my mind! Watching through this sometimes dull and monotone mesh of justice/vengeance/stereotypes was worth it after all! It also introduces another martial artist I don't think I've seen on the screen before: Bogdan Farkas. He takes the lead for a while and has his fifteen minutes of fame before once again fading into the realm of unknown stunt doubles and stand-in's. And that's about it.
The introduction features glimpses of motion amidst the credits, and they flicker in so suddenly and stay so long I start getting annoyed even before the movie starts, but once that part is over... it does get better! The setting never really feels serious or menacing... but it does get better. Good watch.
rated 3/5: not bad

This was pretty damn interesting. And yet, nobody's spoken! Be the first!
