After Porn Ends 3 (2018)

After Porn Ends 3 (2018)

It's time for yet another intriguing glimpse into the lives of past icons, and current icons, of this one so most controversial industry which is - after all - only there because we allow it to be.

It's there for out entertainment, and what a lucrative albeit competitive form of entertainment that has turned out to be.

The movie's nicely directed, with a lot more sensual footage than the previous - if I remember it right - interviewing most memorably Bonnie Rotten, Joanna Angel, Christy Canyon, Tera Patrick, Priya Rai, Romi Rain, Herschel Savage (guys are getting a bit rare here), Jenna Presley (she's the one who dropped out and went religious), as well as starting things off with a quick homage to Johnnie Keyes, who died shortly before this movie was made. He featured in the last one, not to mention revolutionized the industry; opened up for a whole new culture of multicultural eh... entertainment. RIP!

I feel like I didn't recognize nearly enough names in this one compared to the previous, but when the credits rolled I was positively surprised to see it's actually directed by Brittany Andrews! Another retired (or is she?) icon. The previous two were both directed by Bryce Wagoner.

She might explain the expansion on sexual footage amidst the interviews, which IMO is nothing but a benefit. It's all relevant to the movie after all. I think I spotted James Dean too, and surely I'm forgetting at least a couple other deserving mentions. Lots of intriguing people here.

I read a review on IMDB scoring this one as low as possible as just another series of interviews with old stars, and though that may be true it was also an intriguing set of interviews. And old stars. All new. The interviews that is.

It's interesting to listen to the fates and stories of these people, even if the take-away points regarding the industry seem to be the same as before: competition's tough, the old days were better, promote yourself when you have the chance, don't look down on people within this particular field and most of all: be prepared that if you dive into porn then that'll be a stigma you carry for the rest of your life, for good and/or bad. No regrets.

It's good to hear that most of the icons herein interviewed came away (or keep going within) the business unscathed; with a mostly positive relation to the industry even after their leave.

Contrary to that one reviewer I wouldn't mind seeing more of these. They're aesthetically appealing, interesting, and ever relevant in our modern world. And it's as good a time as any to keep it going too; check in with as many legendaries as possible from the golden old days while they're still around.

Just look what happened to Johnnie Keyes.

This was pretty damn interesting. And yet, nobody's spoken! Be the first!
