This is the story of the plot to assassinate the Reich's third in command, and architect of the Final Solution: SS General Reinhard Heydrich, in Prague. The main characters are played by Jamie Dornan and Cillian Murphy. They're authentic. Good accents. The scenery and props of old feel authentic too. Even the filming style feels old. Everything about the movie feels like I assume it felt at the time - like so many a war movie before it, if not better, and it feels familiar... like maybe I've read the plot before, too. Or seen it in a different movie? There's love as well, of course, and tragedy. It's a tale like only the World Wars seems to spur.
Like most war stories it's glorious, but sad, and though it may be glorified it feels authentic, tense, and emotional when it matters. It's dark. Hopeless. Desperate, but resolute.
The assassination? The end? If you know your history then maybe you know. If not: watch the movie. It tells it well.
