Yupp. It was just as awesome as I expected it to be! It picks up where the last Superman movie left off, but throws Batman in the mix, and Wonder Woman! And Lex, and Lois, and a beast. They're all getting together now; readying themselves for the great war to come, and all the while the people question Superman. What has he become to them? A God? And if so: is he a good god? Does he stand outside the laws us others have to abide by? What about all of those who lost their lives in the war he fought... in order to save the planet?
The media prints headlines, and he's a common topic. Just as in the first movie he's fighting himself, now not his origin - but his fame. Will he win the fight? Who knows. It ends with revelation, and tragedy, but hope... but either way, everyone can use a little help from time to time.
Though the special effects are out of this world, I'm starting to feel like the power levels are rising almost too high. With blastwaves so powerful it seems they'd easily incinerate the more human of superheroes (I'm thinking Batman here), it's becoming a bit unreal. It looks awesome. The pace is awesome. Everything's awesome, and yet, I wonder if the series will go like the old Spider-Man movies, and they'll go so far there'll be nowhere further to go, eventually having them fall back to basics again. I guess I'd better enjoy it as long as it lasts. It was a great watch, with plenty of story mixed in with the showdowns.
