So I thought I had left the messy days behind when I graduated! According to everyone I know, the university is a perfect place. Deadlines are to be kept, projects are to be fulfilled quickly, all information is to be memorized instantly and everything works without trouble. It's also said to be much, much, tougher than any previous form of education. Out of 250 applications to Japanese, 180 were accepted. I was one of the lucky ones. Especially lucky since noone believed I would get in anywhere with the grades I had from highschool. It's great to prove them wrong! My grades aren't below average though, it's just my surrounding family that have an "olskool" view on everything. People studied harder and achieved more in the old days my parents learned from. Now everything is sooo easy.

The first day was tense, as it always is. I had gone to bed early the night before, but had still not been able to sleep as much as I had hoped. I took the train to Karlberg, walked to St Eriksplan, took the subway to Odenplan and the bus to Albanon. It only took an hour, an hour less than I had expected, and therefore I was one of the three first people to arrive to the almost empty classroom. The introduction had been meant to be held in the Aula, but since another group had booked it we had to help cram 60 chairs into a smaller classroom. The principal talked for two hours, introducing the course. Our first section of this 30 point course consists of 12 lectures and 12 movies about the Japanese society and history, most of which are two hours long. Out of the 180 people in total we are divided into 3 groups, but for the first 24 lessons the full group is to be present.

Our very first movie was called Sansho Dayo. Thanks to the wrong region settings the movie did not start playing and our teachers frantically fiddled with the different settings in vein. One of the students even tried downloading VLC and MPC, but without effect. Another one tried plugging in his laptop instead, but could not get it to function properly either. They called the IT department and they arrived to fix the problem. Our next movie, the week after, was called Ninjo to Kami-fusen. This time everything was trouble-free. However, when, last week, we were supposed to watch Sen-nen no Koi, further troubles appeared. The movie was locked inside a room to which there was only one key, and this key unfortunately belonged to someone who was at the time at a funeral. Luckily though, one of the teachers had the same movie at home, and also had his father home visiting him. So he called his father and almost an hour later the movie began. All movies so far have been fairly interesting, despite their black and whiteness, and our lectures are stuffed with information. I do though, not agree with whomever said that this place is trouble free and serious. I can find just as many flaws as at my old school, and now there's no free food either! . . . so I have to eat at home, heh. It's a challenge not eating anything for six hours or more.

Can't complain about efficiency though, there's more information in one lecture here than there is in a whole week at school. The difference about this year and the past is that now I'm studying my own chosen courses, which should mean I have more motivation to learn than I had before, which seems right. Today is a no studies day though. I've watched the Bourne Supremacy, updated the games page, the ftpdb and finally added some pictures from the now rapidly vanishing summers vacation. I've discovered a few Windows XP powertools that resize all images for me. Saves me hours. I really wish I had used this tool when putting together all previous galleries and stuff. Took a long walk with Andreas too . . .and had the opportunity to test his newly upgraded supercomputer. woo.

Time to gain some lost sleep now. Goodnight.

Hot Fuzz. The greatest film in future film history! A combination of cunning comedy, violence and crazy English humor. Haven't seen it? It's a must. From the creators of Shaun of the Dead ( another legendary movie that never dies ), comes this sushi cracking masterpiece. If you want more info visit IMDB. You should also see MI3, POTC3 and Breach. Great stuff. ^_^

So what have I been doing the past week exactly? Updated the ftpdb. 9000 Anime Wallpapers finally collected!!! -and a bit more. Threw in some olf cyberdyze junk and a couple of useful programs... like a twitter client and Foobar 2000. :P Been saving White Ninjas 586 masterpieces piece by piece. Archived now, in case of future website corruption. Also made a 1989 events list. Useful, maybe, for everyone born the same day as me. Threw together a directory of Beck episode downloads, music and more. Enjoy! A small 'fansite' for Pidgeon Blood (warning-hentai).

And I have a challenge for you! It's a code, and it's very clever, and I made it, hehe. Try figuring it out here. Also updated the dyze, with more options. And the gallery update? I haven't forgotten about it, yet. Will fix it tomorrow, if I remember. Studies are going great too, Japanese sure is a different kind of language. We watched Sancho the Baliff last Friday. It's an old Black and White movie made by some unknown legendary Japanese film producer. Great, truly. Learned about the basics of Japanese scribbles today - and then there's another movie on Friday. Bought a couple of racing games earlier I finally have a change to play today. Asta la vista!

Sweet Summer

Sweet Summer

( There I was, atop of a mountain . . . you can see our summerplace by the lake, to the left, it appears as one of many other dots that in distance resemble houses - but you'll find a picture of higher resolution to study more thoroughly in the galleries later on . . . )

I'm back!

It all ended so abruptly. The leaves started turning orange, the water turned to ice, and the midnight sun stopped to rise. We flew to Stockholm for an hour by plane, and here it's suddenly summer again! Vacation was great. ^_^ Over two months without connections to the digital world and completely isolated from all international events. Hehe. Any new wars raging in the world? Any important people killed yet? I need to catch up . . . Watched the 12 newest episodes of Naruto, Bleach and One Piece today. We upgraded from our old 05,MB connection to 8MB as soon as we arrived back here, and everythings going sixteen times as fast as normal! WOOOO!!! It can't get better.

During my vacation I not only managed to paint four buildings, build a bench, a jetty, a wall for my throwing knifes, fill a few buckets with cloudberries and do various other placecarettaking things - I also filled a few hundred pages with poetic scribbles, and will be hoping to get a poetry collection published sometime this year, if time ( studies ) so allow. My studies in Japanese and Japanese History before 1686 ( samurai, ninjas, all that ) at Stockholm university start on Tuesday. Pictures from my vacation will be up in the gallery as soon as I have time ( maybe never? lmao ). I even had time for some real vacation too, hehe, swimming everyday, paddling a little, playing badminton, soccer, roasting perch by the fireplace. My buddy Björn from Stockholm came to visit for a week. We had a great time, but it's apparent he's a real city boy. :P Some typical traits being - never walking without shoes, wearing suitable clothes at all occasions and asking for radar ( bug poison ) at first sight of flies. Heh. Would have been interesting having him visit before the Mosquitoes disappeared ( most of them die before August ). He's a fishing maniac though, so we we went fishing 6/7 days. Next summer it will be my turn to visit his place, hopefully. My brother David and his kid Rasmus came to stay for a week too, and my sister for a little longer. Unfortunately their both too busy to take out a full length summer vacation.

Anyhow, I noticed there was a problem with the contact page when I checked my email and found a pile of empty emails from cyberDB - it's fixed now. I'll start building on the site as soon as I have time. I have 37,5 points to study at the university ( 30 is "full time" ). I have to start working on my drivers license, I have to transfer my "book" from regular paper into Word and I was thinking about getting a part time job to get some extra money, but I think that's out of the question now, haha. I've updated my twitter, newgrounds and zellomesh pages - take a look. Will try to regain my activity there too! Soon. Btw, for anyone who needs a new avatar, here's my new one. Feel free to use it. The photo is by Maud Axell ( my sister ). Au revoire!
