A few months back, or more, I tried trading a Pokemon through the Yellow to Gold game. It didn't work, and discouraged as I was I stopped playing the game for a while. Picked it up yesterday to continue my quest in Pokemon yellow and believe it or not, the Pokemon I tried to trade is corrupt!
Corrupt how, you ask? Well it shows up as a mess of black and white pixels in battle, indistinguishable, and when you try viewing it in the profile it shows up at nothing as all. It has one attack, though I'm pretty sure it had more earlier, and the ID, EXP, etc fields are all completely empty. To top it off, it has no name, and shows up as a completely blank space below all the Pokemon I carry. If I switch it with one of the top Pokemon in the list, all Pokemon below it show up as blank!
I'm pretty sure the Pokemon I was trying to trade was an Ivysaur, which means I won't be able to get all 150 Pokemon unless I start a new game. I've already caught more than a third of all Pokemon though so that just seems like a big waste of time and effort. Also, I've tried transferring the Pokemon to Bills PC to make room for more Pokemon, but it won't work. I can't move it, and since it's not in the box I can't release it either. To make things worse, it shows up as poisoned (maybe that's why it went corrupt when I tried to trade? IDK), and for every few steps I take the screen flashes.
I've been to the PC, it won't heal. Nor can I give it an antidote, so that sucks. Though on the bright side it'll give me a pretty good handicap, one slot less in the space for Pokemon to carry, so if I really complete the game sometime in a distant future, that would be pretty sweet. On an unrelated note, why doesn't Vaporeon accept the thunderstone? Anyhow, that's all for my Pokemon adventures this year, I probably won't be playing the game again in a long time.
