When I watched this movie I didn't really know about Leonardo DiCaprio's potential as a great actor, something he manages despite that stereotype 'yah' he adds to all his dialog - that I imagine might be traced from this one movie, but has been present in a great many others. For each movie he makes I realize more and more how great an actor he is, and he may very well be one of the ones I hold in highest regard, along with Matt Damon and Will Smith. Though of course there are tons of overs.
This movie takes place in South Africa, where diamonds and blood are stuffed in the same box - buy one get one free. It's a savage industry, and though this is a fictional movie it brings up the message in a way that makes it almost appear as a documentary. It gets pretty emotional towards the ending too. Great watch.
