Rowdy Rathore, Singham, and now this! And I'm about to watch Dabangg in a moment, these movies about amazing police officers, thugs and corrupt politicians and thugs aiming to be corrupt politicians and some romance on the side seems to be a big thing in Bollywood, and I don't mind, these movies are just great.
Gabbar Singh is a somewhat unique police officer in how he considers himself a villain, and a large amount of the time he doesn't seem to make any sense, in his actions or in what he's saying (or maybe I should blame the subtitles). But he is awesome, and that's really all that matters. The camera pans in on peoples faces like whaaaaat when he jumps out of the jeep while it's moving, stands calmly idle while a ferris wheel crushes a thug, throws one through a door, another three through a window, or how about shooting the tires off of a dzon SUVs and have them bowl through the sky as he and his brother drive on towards the final showdown.
There are a few of those famous musicals mixed in, actually more than I expected - and good ones, and along with the action of course there's the romantical side-story mixed in, a family backstory (thanks to that you can actually feel some empathy for the otherwise seemingly psychotic main character) and plenty of relationship drama. It's a good movie. If you liked any of the above you're bound to like this. Good watch!
