A Finnish man has dreamed of becoming a Swede since childhood
doesn't quite sum it up. A Finnish man who's dreamed of becoming a Swede since childhood meets a Swede who has no interest of being a Swede, but would rather not be at all, and voluntarily gives the Finn his identity before...
Well that's not good either.
It's a feelgood movie anyway, with a plot that starts of as something such, and it's awkward, and embarrassing for the main character, but awesome. And fun. And very reliant on cultural references and differences between Swedish and Finnish culture in regard to the comical elements herein - so I'm not sure you'd appreciate this as much if you're neither Finn nor Swede. At least not for the comedy. Maybe for cultural enrichment. But if you are (Finn or Swede - and/or easily entertained): it's a good movie.
I hear they actually found a Swede who learned to speak Swedish with a Finnish accent for this movie too, since finding a Finn that could talk Swedish without an accent wasn't... as easy? Are Swedes maybe just way better at everything? :P (I jest, good Finns! Friends! Neighbors!)
I liked this, but apparently the book this movie's based upon is waaay better.
Jonas Karlsson, Josephine Bornebusch and Frida Hallgren btw. The main actors.
Nicely played.
rated 3.5/5: not bad at all

This was pretty damn interesting. And yet, nobody's spoken! Be the first!
