Jackie Cogan is an enforcer hired to restore order after three dumb guys rob a Mob protected card game, causing the local criminal economy to collapse.
Jackie Cogan is played by Brad Pitt, and the dumb guys by a... couple of other guys. Ray Liotta is there too - those are the ones I recognize. It's a stylefully presented, surprisingly grimy and unexpected tale of assassination, and a robbery gone wrong. Didn't turn out at all as the characters had planned, or as I expected it to, but... it was nicely presented. Interesting. Exciting, occasionally. Comical on the rare occasion (there is one particular hazy drug-induced narrative that was just perfect)... in a dark sort of way.
Lots of dialog, a little action; plenty of drama. And when there's violence, it's without remorse - contrary to what the title may imply. But I guess that's exactly why. Good movie.
