Cheese-makers slammed over big bunny
Cheese-makers have been criticised by the RSPCA for feeding cheddar to the world’s biggest rabbit.
Amy weighs 35lb and has grown more than a foot in less than a year after being fed a daily breakfast sprinkled with full-fat Cheddar cheese.
The 4ft Continental Giant rabbit has been paraded as part of a stunt to promote Wookey Hole Cave-Aged Cheddar, made at the Somerset caves.
But the RSPCA questioned the addition of cheese to her diet, according to the Daily Mirror.
A spokesman said: “It’s irresponsible. Overfeeding is as cruel as starvation. They may enjoy eating cheese but it does not mean it’s good for them.”
A Wookey Hole Caves spokesman said: “Amy has been carefully looked after. She has just had a growth spurt.”
