Lotto winner goes back to McJob

A National Lottery millionaire has gone back to his old job – at McDonald’s.

Luke Pittard, 25, missed workmates after sharing a £1.3million win with girlfriend Emma Cox, reports The Sun.

So he re-applied for his old post as a staff trainer and now gets up at dawn five days a week to earn £5.85-an-hour.

His wages are less than the interest he earns on his winnings.

Luke said: “Everyone thinks I’m mad but I tell them there’s more to life than money. I loved working at McDonald’s before I became a millionaire and I’m really enjoying being back there again.”

Luke and Emma, 29, worked at the same Cardiff branch of the burger chain when they hit the jackpot 18 months ago.

They quit, got married and bought a £230,000 house to share with daughter Chloe, three.

But Luke said: “To be honest there’s only so much relaxing you can do. I kept in touch with old workmates so I thought, “Why not go back?””

Luke’s manager Katherine Jones said: “We love having him here. It’s as if he never went away.”
