This was going to be a pretty pompous post, a real revelation, a snippet of useful code to revolutionize your life! But, shortly after I made threw together this little script (based upon this little script), the function for which this script was designed was re-purposed and thus, this script also lost its purpose.
That went fast.
The script on which this script was based on has been working fine for years, and still works. Aint that irony? Ah well, I had the opportunity to try it before it lost purpose (it worked!); I have the added experience of userscript contemplating. If any more opportunities pop-up where I might actually be able to create (or change) little tid-bits of code like this, I'll take them. I'm no JS whiz but where there is a will there is a way! Without further ado, I present to you, my recently created no longer functional userscript. It's also on userscripts, but they are down right now and by the looks of it may never return again. If they do, maybe they'll have that 503 error that appeared every time you tried to install something finally fixed. If you'd rather keep things simple: stick to greasyfork. That's it.
Moral of the story? Don't make a script that alters a feature that is still being developed. Wait till they're done, or, you know - they may change stuff. The stuff changed is stuff I'd rather they didn't change btw, they changed things so there is no way of directly opening up a dumped image file on their server. Good for preventing hotlinking, but bad for everything else, like: viewing the image without actually downloading it. Bummer. My genius-in-code buddy Braden did make a potential replacement though, which just so happens to be his first userscript. Check it out.

This was pretty damn interesting. And yet, nobody's spoken! Be the first!
