I thought Nicholas Cage would have the lead role in this one, but it turns out it was an unknown, Hayden Christensen. They're both soldiers in the crusade, they reach a crossroad and on their bloodiest battle, Gallian (Nicholas Cage) wants to stop, but Jacob (the other guy) pushes on - even if he doesn't want to. It's a slaughter. And at that moment their paths part.
And then onto Asia, where a king is dying, his eldest son wants the throne, the youngest son is given the throne, but the eldest son kills his pops and tells the soldiers that the young prince killed the king. The young prince escapes with his sister, and during their escape they stumble upon Jacob, trying to escape his past, high on Opium at a peaceful mountain inn. Well, it's peaceful until the evil brother's army shows up!
The sceneries are beautiful, the battles are glorious, poetic, and sad and tragic... it has all that traditional Asian intrigue along with even English voices for all the Eastern characters. A bridge of cultures... and I like it! Good watch.
