This kind of sucks since I just signed up for their services, how ironic. :P Luckily other good free web hosts still remain for me to use instead.

Today it's 06 06 06, one of the 12 legendary symmetrical dates of this millennium, also the national day of Sweden! And guess what I have, a migraine. I was planning to launch the new engine today, but it will have to wait until tomorrow. I managed to register a few new domain names though. Now I'm going to try to sleep, goodnight.

In the morning of 2006-05-31 the Swedish National Criminal Police showed a search warrant to Rix|Port80 personnell. The warrant was valid for all datacentres of Rix|Port80 and was directed at The Pirate Bay. The allegation was breach of copy-right law, alternatively assisting breach of copy-right law.
 
The police officers were allowed access to the racks where the TPB servers and other servers are hosted. All servers in the racks were clearly marked as to which sites run on each. The police took down all servers in the racks, including the non-commercial site Piratbyrån, the mission of which is to defend the rights of TPB via public debate.
 
According to police officers simultaneously questioning the president of Rix|Port80, the purpose of the search warrant is to take down TPB in order to secure evidence of the allegations mentioned above.
 
The necessity for securing technical evidence for the existence of a web-service which is fully official, the legality of which has been under public debate for years and whose principals are public persons giving regular press interviews, could not be explained. Asked for other reasoning behind the choice to take down a site, without knowing whether it is illegal or not, the officers explained that this is normal.
 
The TPB can receive compensation from the Swedish state in case that the upcoming legal processes show that TPB is indeed legal.

UPD: The site is back up! XD The police regretfully handed back the servers after thoroughly going through them and discovering that there was no illegal material at all. It all turns out that Hollywood told the Swedish police to take action, so they did, despite Swedish laws. :P Hollywood has to understand though, that American law wont work here! Driving a torrent site is not a crime in Sweden, and hopeful never will be. Downloading itself is the only illegal activity, and how the hell are they going to arrest 10% of the Swedish Population?! :D The worlds biggest torrent tracker is back, and now even bigger than before thanks to the media. 8)

Woah, it's been a while, but as you can see we're back online. The reason to this 5 day downtime was s simple typo in my domain renewal form, heh. So always doublecheck your spelling, good advice. :D

Anyway, I can happily announce that the new site system will be launched next Tuesday due to the special date (06 06 06), along with a new main site and additional surprises. :P Just have a few bugs left to squatch.
