Roads we Follow
poetic scribble by Bob Axell 2009
There are many roads
Many ones to follow
Some of them are whole
Some of them are hollow
Some of them don't go
Where we may want to go
Some of them learn from us
What we never thought we would know
There are many roads
Many paths to chose
On them the signs are varied
I'm unsure of which to use
Which signs to put my soul into
And which ones to ignore
The common laws defying
I cared for not before
There are many roads
Many ones to follow
Some of them lead forward
Into a new tomorrow
Some of them lead back
To the past we left behind
Some of them are sidetracks
Some of them are blind
There are many roads
Many paths to chose
Some of them are straight
Some of them obtuse
Distorted without meaning
A pattern soft is made
It leads us through our dreams
Yet crooked is the way
The way to vision and wisdom
The weight of this wide world
A burden we still search for
And seldom seem to find
The weight of which existence
Is light to bear in mind
In difference to the mission
Of the sun that does blind
And lure us to unravel
On a journey we will fail
Or that we will outlast
And that, to no avail
For no future is brighter
Than the one of our universe
If it has already been found
And sees no must to search
