If you're not Swedish you have probably not heard of the new Åse Nisse movie, so I won't type much about it, I just want to let the world know I just recently saw it at a pre-screening at the start of this year.

There hasn't been an Åsa Nisse movie in decades. The old ones are all in black and white so this one marks the start of a new generation. The comedy is still there, and the actors all do a great job, but the atmosphere portrayed in both the old movies and the comics (which the movies are based on) is not the same at all. It's way too speedy, too jumpy between scenes, too cluttered to become a classic. It was fun watching but it's not one of those movies I'd be able to watch over and over again. So I'll just give it a:

I watched this cinematographic flick starring Wesley Snipes as a CIA agent the other day, and though it had beautiful filmography and Wesley was as fast as always, they did miss out on some points.

When Wesley and his old female colleague are zigzagging through doors shooting at each other it does get a bit dull, it takes too long, she speaks too much, they shoot too much without hitting anything, they move too slowly without any real regard for their lives, it's just not a good scene. The elevator scene is the same, in which the arch-nemesis escapes through the elevator. He just doesn't have any speed. Wesley could have shot him easily.

Occasionally a grainy, grungy, film-sequence pops up, and I don't like them, the rest of the movie is crystal-clear, with beautiful scenery, lighting, great angles, everything is really 'sharp', and the grainy scenes kind of cut down on the whole beautifully sharp part. Fortunately there aren't too many grainy sequences, but they are there, and like I said and will do again now, I didn't like them.

Otherwise it's a feel-good action film with a few realistic action scenes and a hollow after-ache to it.

I watched this movie a couple of years back, but it left a big impression, it immediately became one of my favorite movies and when it comes to mind I always feel... well, maybe there's not a word for it. I just remember the movie and reach some kind of elevated state of mind. It features Samuel Jackson, an actor I hadn't heard much about before watching this movie, and though it may not be his best acting performance it certainly is the movie of his which made the greatest emotional impact on me.

The movie is about a teacher, in the ghetto, trying to really teach kids something. He starts losing grip on reality and it all ends with (major spoiler, stop reading now if you plan to watch this) him playing Russian roulette with a student who came to his house to kill him. He takes a bullet the student was supposed to take, and the student can't let this go, so he loads the gun and gives it another go. Then he dies, too.

I get goosebumps just remembering the scene. It's heavy. It's a bit like Deer Hunter, if you've seen it, but it feels way more emotional in that there is no war zone, it's just a ghetto, it looks the same as anywhere else, but the people there all grow up differently. The atmosphere is calm yet the tension is constantly building up and eventually it reaches the boiling point. A review won't do much good, but just watch it, it's one of the most memorable movies I've ever seen.

Wow, just wow, I love this movie. After watching Despicable Me, another movie featuring a villain as the main character, I didn't have any high expectations about this, but it was good. It was actually really good. Not only are the dialogues much better made, the jokes much funnier and the scenery much more imaginative, it also stars a main character you can actually feel for and relate to. The fish in the suit is the UFO above the mountain. I mean, it's what takes this from just a good movie with all the things I mentioned just now in this long line of words - to a great movie.

The plot has all the classic movie elements a good plot needs to have. Action, comedy, drama & even a little romance... well maybe not so little, but not too much either. The movie scenery is very graphical, it's smooth, it's easy on the eye, it's both advanced, bright, and filled with detail.

At the start of the movie you immediately get the big picture, everything is served on a tray right in front of you, with a magnifying glass ontop. It's easy to grasp. The characters all build up personality from the very start, and thanks to this you can really live with them as the movie progresses.

When the new villain comes into the picture and just won't quit talking, or attacking, or being generally evil, it's easy to really sense the panic in the situation. It's not the "Oh duh, and now he escapes" scene, no backs are turned, no mistakes are made, it's not that easy. The story is just straight on, all the time, and it never gets dull. Never.

This one is better made than any animated movie I've seen in a long time. Up was good, it was a great, it had fantastic scenery and a lot of humor, and though the scenery in this movie is far from as astounding as it was in 'Up', everything is built up similarly. The personalities, the story that everything revolves around. I suppose I'm getting carried away though, in a month or so the experience of watching this movie will have settled and no longer be so special, but for now, it certainly is.

The atmosphere is just perfect, and in case you don't believe it, I took a bunch of screencaps for ya, memorable inspirational scenes from this cinematical masterpiece, view and be wildered. :P Of, if you're wondering, Inception is still the best movie ever created, not just a movie I watched once that gave me a shortly lasting first impression of eternal aw, like this one did. Here's another great movie by Luc Besson. It has flips, and eh, jumps, and yeah, climbing, so it's... all you could ever ask for in a movie. Combine that with comedy and sharp hiphop music and you have a hit. Though the story is a bit corny (about getting money for a kids heart transplant) and the action scenes are all but brutal they manage to keep the pace, keep the atmosphere light, and keep the camera steady (you know I hate shakey cams). What it amounts to is a great movie.

After watching it I feel like going outside and just running around, wish I had a group of people in the same physical condition with an ambition of just, well, running, climbing, taking things to the limit. Flipping through the fields like a human stampede. Society is so gray present day, but anyway, great movie. It's French, but if you don't speak French there's always subtitles.

Crazy spaced out comedy. It's crazily spaced out, with a lot of eh... comedy.

The dialogue is classic, two guys step out of the house, big plans, then, looking around...

As a quote, it sounds worse than I thought it would, but in the movie, that kind of comedy that really isn't comedy (but still, it really is) makes the movie into the great (which it really isn't, but still is) movie that it is.

They could have skipped some things and made the movie even better, like that little animated fairy stripper in the intro, but on the other hand, maybe it's this careless attitude of the movie, the messy atmosphere, that makes it as great as it is. Some movies have to be perfect to be good, but not this one, here it's just the other way around. This is comedy as it should be, without all the fancy special effects. It's exaggerated but still not too exaggerated for it to get dumb, not as exaggerated as the Naked Gun - From The Files Of Police Squad trilogy, based on the TV series with the same name without the main title title.

Not that I don't like the Naked Gun trilogy.

Anyway, back to the movie about the dudes and their car. The plot is very basic. Two guys forget what happened last night, one dude can't find his car, and they go out on a small adventure to find out what really happened to the car. All through the day strange things start unraveling like their lifetime supply of pudding and how they trashed their girlfriends house (who are twins btw) and how they got tattoos, and, well, more I shall not reveal. It's a great movie.
