Ride Along 2 (2016)

I've been looking forward to this movie ever since it was announced. I was looking forward to reliving the adventures of the former, all the while hoping for a wilder, wider, and whacker law enforcement adventure than the last.

I guess I hoped for too much, because this was all talk. Well, it was too much talk, and too little action, and it was too predictable too.

But seriously: he never stops talking! Even during the calmer scenes he's always in the background. Even at the stake-out. You can understand Ice Cube & Co are a bit annoyed with all the yapping going on in the backseat... because I am too. It's just too much.

First one will always be something else to me, this... entertaining, but not quite that awesome. It feels like it could've evolved; moved onto something greater, but all that work that should've added depth and dynamism just went into the dialog. To evolve as characters, a little less squabble seems like a requirement. Good watch, but not as good as it could have been.
