Damn, Arnold really is getting old! He manages to keep it together in this movie though, but some times... his age really shines through. It's not in the way he moves, cause that's part of the character, it's in the way his accent seems to go from good to worse with age. It's the same thing with Jackie Chan. It's gotta be age-related, right?
There are some pretty creative scenes in the movie otherwise, like a car ride through the cornrows. The action is both intense and varied, and the character set are all decisive... but I just can't grow to like Johnny Knoxville's character. He has the same type of act he had in MIB2, or that other movie he was in that I don't recall the name of, where he's just acting stupid. It's just too much. I'd think he'd do a better job if he was more like he is in real life, a bit more genuinely crazy instead of stupid-crazy. So that brings down the movie quality a bit IMO.
Otherwise? I have no complaints, this was straight-out goodness, an action feast that wasn't really as much a feast of action as I expected... but still had a large enough dose that I'd be satisfied. And I hope this isn't his last one with Arnold (not even going to try spelling that last name)! Even though he isn't what he used to be, each movie he plays a role in is like a kick of nostalgia. Hoping and looking forward to more!
