Simon West just became my new favorite director. I've watched this movie plenty of times, even had it on VHS for a while (maybe I still do... I did keep a few of my favorite titles) but I've never cared much for who directed it. It turns out I've seen most of the movies he's made, and with masterpieces like Con-Air on that list... the paragraph runs a full circle. Simon West just became my new favorite director. At least for today.
I wasn't sure how I'd feel about this movie now. Last time I saw it was a long time ago, but if you didn't figure it out already by use of the message above: it's still awesome. The mesh of adventure and action, the down-to-earth mystique, the ancient and the technological elements all intertwined, good and bad, girl and boy, dad and daughter, guns and robotics, swords and statues, secret societies and friends and family, groovy music, pace and plenty of action, all of it nicely intertwined with comedy and a memorable cast - it's all a perfect fit. And Daniel Craig was in it too, way before he got that big breakthrough. He's great, but the real highlight of the show is Angelina Jolie. No doubt. She's a favorite. One of the few great female actors in great action movies who seems to really have a great time.
My sister cracked down on this movie a bit, for some reason she didn't like it at all. Kinda brought down my beliefs in my own tastes a while... but you know what? I'm still me! Great movie.
It's about time - the movie, and time it holds, and it holds in time. And it's about time I watched it again! It was overdue. All in due time. Time out. Time to stop playing with my time and give this review a rating.
rated 4/5: fo shizzle
UPD: What's this thing about 5000 years btw? Deja vu! They're all about a planetary alignment too... though this one was the first out of these three.

This was pretty damn interesting. And yet, nobody's spoken! Be the first!
