Vendetta (1986)

An all-female prisoner movie with a happy ending... I wasn't expecting this!

The fights aren't realistic at all, but they do get pretty brutal at the end, and it's a new take on the genre in that the main character is one who actually gets into prison on her own, to avenge her sister, more so than to be the innocent girl who's unjustly convicted, changed by prison and forced to retribution.

After a short phase of introduction and discovery she starts going after the perps who killed her innocent sister one by one, and turn the remaining perps against the big bad wolf in the prison system - who in this case is also refreshingly enough not the warden - with help ultimately from an unexpectedly bad-ass female guard.

Then she rides off into the sunset together with her boyfriend.

A little unconventional it is. A lot of skin there is, in at least the one shower scene. Not so much otherwise.

It may not be a movie to hang up in your Christmas tree but it was better than I thought it'd be. It's one of the better ones I've seen so far in this very niche (and usually very B-movie) genre.
