It's a cold world! And even colder by the Wind River, on the Indian reservation, where hunter Cory Lambert one day stumbles upon a dead girl in the snow. The FBI gets called, they send in a lone agent, and the two of them go on a hunt.
It's a wild and barren pace. The sense of isolation comes across. The motion, too. The injustice. The suffering. The violence. Nothing prepared me for the final shoot-out, but damn, that might've been the fiercest showdown I've seen in a long time.
I wasn't really prepared for the movie, period. There's not much action, but the little there is packs a punch, but more so: it packs emotion.
One punch, man. Right in the feels. Jeremy Renner, Elizabeth Olsen, the Indians and all: great performances. Great watch.
(Not) Fun Fact:
While missing person statistics exist for every other demographic, none are compiled for native American women. No one knows how many are missing.
But I don't want to end this as just a statistic. It's so much more.
