Sad. Sad but pompous. Sad by wonderful. Wonderful but tragic. Tragic and inspiring, though I remembered Donnie and Wen's duo as lasting at least a little longer in the line of fire...
It's an epic rebellion though. An epoque of hope. An amnesty of greatness. And how dope that the actors I grew up on somehow managed to jump into a franchise as grand as this? Or as big as this - not that their initial accomplishments weren't great in their own accord.
I'm thinking of Donnie Yen and Forest Whitaker in particular here, who I first found via much more low-budget action movies, both Asian and American. Ballistic Kiss, Ghost Dog...
As far as movies go this really was a good one though.
Makes me question once again if Star Trek really is the better franchise of these two, maybe it's Star Wars Forever after all...
Not that you need to choose. The same director's apparently involved with both these days. And now they're both amazing.
rated 4.5/5: almost awesome
