A group of bad cops look to dispose of a body that one of them accidentally shot.
Officer Duke's quite the character!
At first he comes across a straight up asshole, but as the movie moves on you realize... there's more to him than that! He's really just plain dumb. Or is he? Is he just different? Is he just who he is? Is he just a straight up narcissistic no-consequence-considering psychopathic freak?
Somehow you still like him... somewhat. He's just that guy.
Marylin Manson has a small role in this movie too. Though I was expecting his cameo to be a highlight. I was expecting the rest to be a B-movie, and his role to be a spark of quality in a sea of shit. But he wasn't. He's just a small part, a little speck of cool in a mov(i)e that unexpectedly totally depletes his usual authority.
It feels rare to see him this different.
He's just a kid here... how young is he really? Isn't he an old dude at this point? Doesn't he age?
This whole movie was a rare gem really. That psychedelic music fits in just perfectly too. The whole movie's just perfect. It's dark humor, about a buncha warriors for justice - police officers that is - who really aren't that good at their jobs at all.
That's the movie. And it's damn good. Unexpectedly so.
It has a strong finish too, in that strange laid back kind of way that permeates this entire movie... and just like that music: it's a vibe.
Kinda like Napoleon Dynamite is a vibe.
This isn't like Napoleon Dynamite at all but... the strangeness is reminiscent. Though more authoritarian and all out here.
You'll love it or you won't.
