Loki's sad past is revealed, and Karen's.
Here she is. Karen lilica-sama, a stellar mage who doesn't care about the spirits. "Spirits don't have feelings, they're just tools." she says, and she uses them as she likes.
Master Bob tells her to take better care of her spirits.
After being scolded by Master Bob, she punishes her steller spirits even more.
That's when Loki summons himself. Only one spirit can be summoned at a time by a mage with the magical power Karen has, and he decides not to leave until Karen decides to revoke their contracts. So he says, but what he really hopes is that she'll realize how wrong she was.
Stellar spirits can't survive a long time in the human world. Yet Loki is leader of 12 zodiac gates. "What other spirits aren't capable of I'm capable of", he says. Karen refuses to change.
One day Karen attempts to summon an additional spirit. She fails, and dies. Loki is at fault, and he's banished from the spirit world forever due to this sin.
All I wanted was for Karen to think about her actions
Loki is ready to disappear.
Lucy doesn't want him to die. She tries to forcefully open the gate to Lion, the spirit world, and refuses to give up even if it means giving her own life.
Loki says he's ready to atone for his sin. "What sin?" she says, "If that's a rule in the spirit world then I'll change it!" Suddenly time stops.
The Spirit King appears. He says there is nothing he can do.
Lucy brings forth all her spirits at once. She delivers a touching speech, and the Spirit King decides to make an excpetion this one time.
So, Loki, leader of the 12 Zodiac gates, becomes Lucy's stellar spirit. :)
He returns a while after to thank her, and to give them all tickets to a seaside resort. :) He says he looks forward to work for his new owner, and Lucy replies "I'm not your owner, I'm your friend, right?"
"Back then, nobody could know that before long, Erza's smile would disappear."
