One Piece 35

Luffy is out on a walk.

He meets a few merman on the way...

...and walks by.

Hachi asks about Luffy, who he is, and Luffy tells him it's none of his business. "You've got a point there", Hachi sais, and on the story moves. Time for a flashback into Nami's old life!

Back then Nami drew maps.

That's her 'mother', Bellemere.

Here together with an old friend, Gen-san.

Seems like even Nojiko was little back then.

Time to jump back even further, to the time when Bellemere was a marine. During an intense adventure she stumbles upon two kids alone amidst all rubble.

Nojiko & Nami, both total strangers to not only each other, but to Bellemere as well. Still, Bellemere decides to take care of them and they all go home together.

Then they live happily ever after, until Arlong appears and takes control over the village. Sail on!
