One Piece 49

The highlight of this episode is Zoro and his two new swords, don't miss that!

Luffy & Smoker have their first duel. After getting his legs stuck and being punched down twice by Smoker, Luffy wraps his foot around a fountain by mistake and flies away. Smoker is confused, what's with this kid?

Buggy & Co have arrived at Loguetown. They hang out at the Gold Roger bar waiting for some new on Luffy. Luffy flies by overheard.

Interesting deck of cards!

Zoro meets a marine who looks just like the girl from his memories, the one he inherited the dreams from, and he accidentally crushes her glasses. Zoro has to pay for Tashigi's (that's her name) glasses, so he starts mopping floors at the marine HQ to help out. Three mops really is the best. ;) After a while some marines realize who he is and try to arrest him, so he has to leave in a hurry.

Back in town, at a sword shop, Tashigi arrives again!

It turns out the sword Zoro is carrying, the one with all the memories, is Wadou Ichimonji, one of the legendary Oowaza-mono 21, worth more than 20,000,000 belli. The shop owner wants to buy the sword and tries getting it for a really low price as Zoro has no clue it's worth so much, until Tashigi comes along and flips up some facts on the sword in a little notebook she apparently carries around. Zoro would never dream of selling it anyway, so, no harm done.

He starts looking for another sword and finds Sandai Kitetsu, the 3rd Demon splitter, worth at least a million belli, the only problem is that it is cursed. The shop owner decides he doesn't want to sell it after all, he put it in the 50,000 belli cheap-ass-trash swords bin to get rid of it, but all previous owners have died and he doesn't want to kill anyone. Zoro decides to bet an arm, test his luck versus the curse. He throws up the sword and holds his arm out.

It's a close call!

And damn, that's a sharp sword, sinking that deep by its own weight.

The shop owner is shocked, surprised, amazed, and fetches Yubashiri (Snow step), one of the Rjou-Waza-Mono 50 & the best katana he has in the shop. He doesn't want any money for either of the swords, he's just happy he had the chance to meet a true swordsman.

Back at Marine HQ things are stirring. Buggy's crew have started moving, and Luffy is headed back to the execution platform. What next? Sail on to the next episode!
