I decided to take some time and update my NGAP collection this year. I started updating it last year, I think, but time was a lacking so it was left incomplete. Over the years I've been adding new artists now and then, but never really going through the artist audio already existing.

Oh wait, you don't know what my NGAP Collection is? It's a collection of audio from the Newgrounds Audio Portal that I've downloaded over the years (it's legal, all files are released under creative commons). Before I went through it recently the collection consisted of 2258 artists and around 34,641 tracks. I say around because the number may not be fully accurate as not all files are music files. Way back (around 2004-2005) all downloads came zipped together with a text file with artist information. For those ancient tracks I decided to leave the text files. There's not a lot of them though, but counting the number of tracks exactly gets hard with them lying there. Or rather, impossible, unless you're willing to do it manually or to use some foreign software in addition to the standard Windows explorer... which I chose to use.

Anyway, after a lot of updating, the collection now consists of 2281 artists and around 60,690 tracks. Not a lot of new artists, but damn, that's a lot of new tracks! The best thing about my collection is that I don't delete stuff. A lot of artists get tired of their old music and get rid of it online, and it really is a shame, there's a lot of good music that just disappears. Of course there's still more music than you could ever listen through in a lifetime, and I don't even have the half of it, but I like to think I still have the biggest unofficial NGAP collection out there. Anybody willing to take on the challenge?

I woke up at 7:20. Went up. Closed the window (it was raining). Thought I'd get back to bed and sleep at least half an hour more. I woke up again at 11:20. SHIT. 4 hours?! Maybe I needed the rest. It's now past midnight. I think I need to get my bed-going times straightened out a bit.

I'm so good at this game now I just can't lose fighting the big bad boss guy & Co. :) Provided the right amount of hypos are supplied of course. Bunch of special effects experimented with in the process of patching together footage from the game, hope you like. Get ready to check out these sequences of the final fights. ;)
