Finito!

woot! Vacation! Well, my vacation is done, so it's time to post a post with all the updates I've been working on during this time. Don't you just hate gigantic news posts like this one? Well, that's fully understandable! There is probably so much reading involved in this that it takes half an hour to get through. Nonetheless, I haven't posted anything during my vacation so I have to tell you what's going on. There won't be many news posts for some time now either, I have a strict schedule to follow and multiple projects I'm working on. I also started playing Pokemon Gold recently, and I'm addicted. You may laugh as much as you like, but it really is a great great game. Am thinking of getting Emerald and Ruby as soon as I finish it. Anyhow, I've watched TV. That's basically all I've had time for during this one week . . . and play Pokemon . . . and then work a little on my websites of course. I usually don't spend more than one or two hours per week in front of the box on normal weeks, but this week is an exception . . . and I was planning on playing some WoW, but there is no time left now, as always. I had a short day long vacation last weekend. We took a ride to Dalsland and back ( 10 hour drive total ). It was nice, and it was during the long car-ride when I first got addicted to Pokemon, hehe. I was at Big Bears house this Friday and had a great time, my cousin David came and visited on Thursday and we raced for about 8 hours. Btw, a few movies I highly recommend : 300, Smokin Aces, Eragon, Blood Diamond, Black Mask and Gothica. My sister has very different opinions on 300 though, and after much angry discussion we came to the conclusion that females don't tend to like the movie as much as guys do. Ok, now lets talk about all the achievements I've made . . .

Have you seen Grenadier? It's an anime . . . a very good one. So, if (1) you like anime and (2) you havn't seen it, you should. :P I was originally just planning on updating the long-lost holical website when I decided to make a new fansite for this short 12-episode anime that I love. This is, to my knowledge, the first Grenadier fansite created. I did a quick search on google without any results, so I assume it is the only ( big ) grenadier fansite available. You'll find episode summaries, screens, characters, the soundtrack, episode downloads and more right here. I recommend using the direct downloads instead of the torrents, as their popularity is slowly decreasing. It took me 3 days to upload all the episodes btw, luckily I'll be getting a 14x better connection after summer, the current one slows me down so. Btw, if you could possibly mirror the files, let me know. My bandwidth has it's limitations. Click here to see the site.

A simple, fast and easily navigated layout is what I'm aiming at for cyberdyze. I figured out that grey, white, orange and blue are a good color combination, even for the colorblind. They fit together nicely and give the site a professional yet simple look. Text sized 14 is the perfect choice for readability when there is a mediocre amount of information involved. A table with a width of 800 pixels is good for everyone, as over 90% of the Internet population has a screen resolution of 800x600 or higher. Aligning it in the center will give it focus, and having a white background will let people focus on the content instead. The Arial font is the font of choice as it is simple, readable, and used on most websites around the net. Also, almost everyone has the font installed on their computers. Second choice is Verdana, which is extremely similar, and also just as common. The banners above the news posts are to be stopped, as they are spotted before the text itself is and don't have any relation to the text at hand. They also make the site load slower and give the layout unnecessary color. Relevant and simple images will be provided within the post itself instead. A sidemenu to the right is the best choice as right is the direction of choice for most English speaking countries, as this site is directed towards.

Links are in blue since the color blue is usually associated with links, and are underlined when hovered over to give them a more dynamic feel and also to further prove that they are indeed, links. The smiles on the site are smooth, friendly and simple. There is no flash in the layout, as some people don't have flash installed. All images have a low file size to let that page load quickly and all stylish is put in the CSS. All images used in the layout are copyright cyberdb.org 2007. There, the site is perfect now. Might you be interested in a design yourself? Take a look at dyze.org, my newly redesigned website for graphical design and programming services. I offer extremely cheap prices compared to most webdesigners, and have many years of experience. I can work on a tight schedule and complete assignments quickly and efficiently. You can see what my clients say about me, soon. I'm working on a custom-made CMS for a photo studio in Jakosberg atm, everything is proceeding smoothly . . .

Unlike me, maybe you have a lot of time to waste? Browse around the updated and reorganized stuff page. I have added my templates, emoticons and userbars. If you're looking for more emoticons, avatars or fonts, check out the brand new Resource Database. We boast over 10,000 unique emoticons. ^_^ Soon avatars and fonts in the same gigantic amounts.

Artwork, is life. the new Cyberdoze.com is a masterpiece. Browse through this years best 99 pieces of creativity, or view the archives. Cyberd.org is back to the way it used to be, a simple links page for the entire network. We have a newsletter too, as soon as someone signs up for it. Wonpeace.com has been simplified to only include anime related stuff related to me, so go see it. I should also add that all these sites mentioned have been moved over to the same server, the one where cyberdb.org is hosted. Why? ReyReyTheMonkey.com is history, it's goin down in less than a month. Yet another free webhost thrown away due to lack of time and profit. It was a good host too, with generous resources offered and a good community. I even have over 500 posts there, lmao. Hate losing my stats . . . anyhow, I had a choice between cloaking the URLs and making it look like all sites were seperate, but since I like being able to press CTRL + R without switching back to the main page or changing sites with the domain name remaining in the adress bar, I chose to simply point the domains to their real locations. Keep using the domains though, they're short and simple. Well, tomorrow school starts again, so I have to get some sleep now. Buenos Noches!

Oh, and I've been trashing through old un-finished news posts that never happened. If you'd like to see what the site could have been like if they did happen, read the additional info. ;)

Jag älskar gamla städer,
Torn som upp i skyn torna,
Där vill jag va
Tillsammans med det forna,

Medeltida repliker,
For länge sedan försvunna reliker,
Bostader tärda av termiter,
Hit err . . .

Smiles - Remember the 2 packs with 5000 smileys each I uploaded during Christmas? no? Well, then it's about time you download them. All 10, 000 smileys are now available separately, so you can link to them in forums, emails etc directly from the site! Just right click and copy, or click "properties" and you will find the link to the image file.

Avatars - There are 10 brand new avatar packs waiting for you! And that aint all, they are now all available seperatly, so you can link to them in forums, emails etc directly from the site! Just right click and copy, or click "properties" and you will find the link to the image file.

NewGrounds Template - If you're not making a site dedicated to newgrounds you should not use this tho, as people will consider you an asshole since you "copied" their layout. I don't use photoshop, so I didn't make any PSDs for the menu items or buttons, but I did make a blank version of everything ( without text ), which you can open up in your favorite image editor and add (text). Also, there are plenty of extra downloads such as the newgrounds level icons, forum images, a bundle of unofficial wallpapers, etcetra. It's all on the template section. If you want to go directly to the newgrounds template you can go here : http://www.cyberdb.org/ng6. I'm really proud of it, took me a long time to copy. You can mess around with the template images to create all kinds of different layouts too, instead of using the default, I know I will make a few different versions later on. Oh, and you can browse through the website pages on the example ( webcams, portal, my profile ( yes it is my real profile ), etc ), just like on the site. All Javascript and Ajax has been removed and big portions of the code have been edited ( "fixed" . . . the appearance is still unchanged ). It was surprisingly messy, hehe.

Retrogade Template - Yeah! I've cloned RetroGade too! They'll be getting a new style soon, so it's only right that I preserve the old one for future generations . . . right?

I've realized something, infact i have realized it many times before - but now it's time to do something about it. Do I get visitors for daily updates? No, despite of how much of a postwhore I am I have to realize that it's a loss of publicity having to wade through the crap to find quality content. No matter how much I know this, I can't stop posting stuff, just for the sake of posting more stuff. Grabbing content from other places, copy and paste. Biggest problem of all, it takes time. Sometimes I wonder if I should just skip all the Internet, website and hosting bullshit and try to prioritize things such as my health for the full year, and not only during the summer. If I could only be able to balance health and computer everything would be FINE, but unfortunately the computer seems to grab a hold of me however much I try to get away from it's tentacles. My selfesteeme wont allow me to just be normal.

Im frustrated, first I get an inflammation in my right nut, now I have an inflammation in my left heel. I've been sitting so much infront of the computer lately that I have to sleep over 10 hours each night for my eyes to handle it. Christmas starts next week and I have TONS of assignments I have to get done before school is over, just don't have time. I ordered new glasses, but I suspect they're a bit too sharp - will be going to get an alternative eye check next week, same day school ends. So, I made a new years promise. To change my lifestyle before new year, to get everything sorted out.

Time to celebrate! We're getting big now, 100 unique visitors per day!

I got tons of good news to tell you, so go get yourself some coffee before you start reading, it might take a while. Correction, it will take
a while. Oh man, this is going to take ages to write. Ok . . . lets start.

Server Change! The first event in this long line of good news. We thank canaca.com, our current host - which we will be changing from, for the 2 good years of being hosted by them. If you need paid hosting, check them out - canaca.com . They have greeat features for low prices. Pay special attention to the prices on the frontpage, and then the prices on the plan comparison page, at the very bottom of the page, were it sais that the prices on the front page are for 2 year contracts. If you decide to only order hosting for one year it will be another dollar per month. Also pay special attention to the fact that the bronze plan, with currently a few gigs of space and a few hundred gigs of bandwidth . . . does not have any MySQL databases! So if you want to start a small and normal website, with SQL, you still have to chose the silver plan, with about 100 GB space and a few thousand gigs of bandwidth, even when you don't need it. Theres no catch, no, there is always a catch. Anyway, their support is great and the uptime has been good too. Speed can sometimes be a little lousy, which isn't that strange since they are really overloading all their servers with the huge hosting plans they offer. It can't be denied that I have wasted a lot of money though. The first year I signed up with the silver plan . . . I think it was 10GB space and maybe 80 GB bandwidth. Now can someone tell me why I did this? Did I really think I would need 10 GB Space and 80 GB bandwidth the first year? I hand't even started on my site yet. The next year they upgraded there hosting plans even more, and the bronze plan even had more features than my silver one had had originaly. So I wonder why I stayed with the silver one . . .

Well, it's time for change now. The site will be hosted for free at the best free host I find first, and I have plenty good offers to compare. However, we all know that free hosts don't last forever. So far, none of them have. I hope the one I chose will be an exception, but it probably wont. So I expect having to change hosts maybe once or twice a year, at least. For this purpose there will be a backup site! Yay! An exact copy of this site hosted on another free server. )I'll register a new domain name for it soon.

Time for the bad news with this good news. :P This move requires a sacrifice of space. The current site weighs about 10GB, and to meet the requirments for most free hosts I'm scaling it down a little. Over 50% of the space used is space for the anime section. All the 9999 wallpapers, anime soundtracks and previews take up quite a lot of valuable ones and zeros. So, the anime section is to be removed. I havn't had the time to update it in a long time anyways. Sometime in the future, at the start of next year, I'll be launching a seperate site for the anime. It will be called KATANA. Stay tuned . . .

Ok, next great part in this chain of events. Site ReDesign !!!
The new design is simple, search engine friendly, and it has a link to our site policy at the bottom. Basicly everything needed. It also looks nicer, in my personal opinion. There are also features on the frontpage, divided neatly into 6 categories, and a little introduction too. I have added a new page, titled Styles - which can be found under the new stuff section ( were you will also find everything else from the old version that isn't listed in the main menu anymore ). Here you can download all of the old layouts and use them for your own homepage.

Next, as I promised, ECarDs!!! You wont find a link to this place anywhere on the site ( except in this post : cards.cyberd.org ). A link to it can be found at cyberd.org, on the frontpage, in the list of sites inside the network. I havn't written the script myself, it's run by GCards, the best ecard script availible. Modified to look unique and cyberstylish. :P And i made 30 ecards too. So send some of them to family and friends, spread the word!

Theres More AVATARS !!! I've taken screenshots from various different anime series and added 10 50x50 avatar packages, with 50 avatars each. As well as 10 new 100x100 avatar packaged - same images though, just bigger.
