Two little kids knocked on my door just now, a boy and a girl, impeccably dressed and groomed as little adults. Their dress code surprised me, as did their door knock (I don't get a lot of knocks I'm not expecting), but I was prepared to disappoint them all the same, assuming they´d be selling cookies or other expensive sweets in the act of collecting money (which I have limited quantities of)... as it turns out they came on behalf of Jehovah´s Witness!
The boy mumbled something about how a lot of people wonder why Jehovah´s Witness knock on doors, that a lot of people have questions, and that he´d like to give me a couple of brochures that might answer some of my questions. I accepted the brochures, thanked them; said fare the well! Both parties turned away relieved; there this short morning story ends.
I'm a bit surprised though. Do little kids normally knock on doors with this sort of info in other countries? I'm also surprised this short encounter somehow left me more positive towards their religion than any of the adults have ever managed to, though I do wonder what would've happened if I started questioning their faith; bringing up some cunning contemplations I have about these alternate ways of thinking... some might say brainwashing. I guess if they were older I might have!
Either way, making someone happy feels like a good way to start the day! With such a simple gesture of acceptance. If I'll read the brochures or not... that´s a story for another time. Today is a good day.

Keeping the world since 2004.
yeah it happens here...Not kids though. Teenagers at the latest. I'd have a feeling if kids were trying to deliver a religious message to strangers, elders compelled them to do it. Pretty much reserved to Christian religions. Mainly Jehovah Witness and Mormons...kinda surprised those sects made it over to Europe, then again Mormons go on "mission" trips throughout the world to disseminate their religious practices. Mormons are known for their white shirts & ties and bikes.
Mormon bikes??
Mmm I assume they did knock around on behalf of their parents, can't imagine they'd be doing so at their own initiative, could even be they´re children to this other couple who knocked on my door a while back, to wuich I did preach my lack of belief a little.
Either way, they looked so happy about their task, albeit uncertain if I´d hear them out or not... I didn't get that 'these little kids were definitely brainwashed into handing me this stuff' impression, but then again who knows when they're being brainwashed...
Mormon bikes, Jews in German cars, Protestant motorized carts, Muslim camels, Buddhist levitation units, Hindu cows, Jehovah Witness pogo sticks. Well I guess only the Christian sects need transportation as they are seemingly the only religion that tries to convert everybody to their cult. Whether it be a combination of trying to eradicate the world of different cultures or having a genuine belief that people who do not conform to their way of life are doomed to an eternity of suffering. Not sure what the motivation was here, but I think it can potentially be a terrible way to pollute and guilt trip a child's mind.
Haha, some levitation units could come in handy! Interesting thing about them Mormon bikes: http://reubenscube.net/2011/06/missionaries-mountain-bikes/
As for these cults making their way to Europe btw: I haven't seen any Mormons on mountain bikes at least! We do have a few cults of our own though, like: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Laestadianism
...it was pretty popular in the village my mom grew up in; still is up North. There are entire villages where everyone's a follower.
Sad moments, seeing people do wrongs, knowing they think they're doing good. :/ Though Christians aren't the only ones with an agenda, thinking about that Muslim global domination plan there...
Well, I'll hope for the best! Was such a peaceful encounter... I shall keep viewing it with blissful ignorance.
