New Yahoo Mail Storage Quota
I got an email from Yahoo! this morning:
Dear Member,
Yahoo Mail is designed to help you stay organized and get more done, faster. That means building features that put you in control, from smarter mailbox tools to time-saving shortcuts. Now, we’re introducing new ways to check and manage your storage, so you always know how much space you’re using and how to stay on top of it.
As part of these improvements, we’re also updating our storage limits to give you more flexible options based on your needs.
...you know what the storage quota used to be, though? 1TB! 1000 GB.
This doesn't exactly add to my trust in Yahoo! as a service provider.
Along with recent downtime issues and overall slowness (compared to counterparts like Gmail) it if anything lessens it, and makes me wonder if they're on the verge of potential crisis, and permanent company closure.
It's not so much that they're limiting their storage though - it's how they phrase it. As if they're doing you a service. As if they're improving their service, not by necessity degrading it. I'm not a fan of that approach.
Then again 1TB really was too good to be true. Long-term. If people have been abusing that, I get it.
I'm glad I'm not one of those people...
