Here's the perfect heist movie if there ever was one, it still is. with the gadgetry, with the cast, with the settings and transitions and jives and jitteriness and everything in between.

The timing's a bit too impeccable sometimes - like how were they so sure Tess would turn on the TV quickly enough to see the right footage. Or not notice the phone when she sat down first, and discard it then. Or something such but... that wouldn't make for as good a movie if she did huh?

These are details I definitely didn't consider the first two or three times I saw this now. Least I don't think so. IF I did maybe I did't mind then - just like now. I don't now either.

What a grand, gallant and charismatic criminal movie this is! Criminally overrated too? No way. The score's deserved. It's just right. The sequels may not be all that but this is definitely one I'll keep coming back to.

Soderbergh you genius you.

Crappy soundtrack. Too experimental. Too simple to be experimental. For the most part though there's no music at all; it sounds alright... that's my first impression at least. Maybe the music grows on me.

The characters are legit from the jump though - even if they come across more comical than they should sometimes. They're good guys - even the bad ones. Or maybe it's the other way around. Maybe even the ones that seem to have a little good in them are rotten apples... but maybe that doesn't matter after all.

And Jack's a tough old dude. A crackshot too. And the sons... the sons. What a story. Reminds me of Friday... they have a both frustrating and entertaining dynamic, where the bickering is but an iceberg tip of uncertainty.

Fate has it... yeah, fate has it.

Fake-looking blood, but a lot of real-looking gunfire!

Good movie. It's a farce. In the best way.

All about the money.

Military on a mission. CIA narrative. Three days after 9/11, alarms of a nuke in Chazni, Afghanistan. Or something even more powerful...

Based upon a true story? You might think so initially, by the way it's being narrated, but just you wait! Impressions may change along the way.

It turned out way better than I expected it to be. Different. Triangular UFOs. Whatyoumacallthem... special effects are simple but work surprisingly well. The strength lies in the mystery. The way the terrain changes. The unforgiving desert. The location's perfect for the kind of movie this turned out to be...

And the actors do a pretty convincing job selling it, too.

Not a scary movie per se, but definitely an uncomfortable one. Gripping. Thrilling. Impactful in the lack of proof and circumstance...

Unexpectedly solid even in the end. Even the interview...

The story of two miserable and unpleasant wedding guests, Lindsay and Frank, who develop a mutual affection despite themselves.

Keanu Reeves and Winona Ryder.

It's not great. But it's not all bad either...

it's definitely a different kid of romcom. They have a sex scene with a real puma on the sidelines. There's endless bickering on the bedside. The script is remarkable, yet there's a bit much talk and a little little else. And an uncertain ending.

It's different though! And that's nice. It's love, in a way.

Props on that. On the unconventional means of attack.

What a wonderful movie this was.

It's the story of Steven Spielberg - an autobiography I presume - as told by himself. I wonder how much of it is real though. I wonder if these parents really were his parents, or if they were just like his parents. I wonder if he exaggerated certain scenes - like the praying session - if the room really was as it was in the movie or accentuated even more for the movie. I wonder about a lot of details like that as it all progresses. I wonder if the cigar in the final scene was real. I appreciate how they frame the horizon in the final scene. I appreciate the characters, and the nuances, and how they neither seem to leave any essential things out, nor make it too long. It jumps at the right time. It transitions perfectly. It shows why Steven really is as good as he is - and I guess he got a bit of that technical proficiency from his dad. And of course, the artistic side from his maybe. But really maybe he was more technical than an artist. The movies are art, but filming them is technical. Acting is art, directing is a science... no?

I'm glad they got Seth Rogen as Benny too! I did not expect to see him here.

A lot of things in the movie make more sense as they progress, and though Sam (the difference in name makes me wonder if he really is a truthful depiction of Steven after all... I need to read up on Spielberg) is never depicted as an alpha-like individual in any way, he certainly is a strong one. He certainly has conviction. In the end, I wonder if they painted him in a brighter light for this movie too. Was he really always that considerate, and truthful, and into what he was doing...

It's mostly drama this movie, with a little comedy, and a little conflict - more so with the close family than with anyone else - but even though the premise doesn't sell (I'm not an action aficionado y'know) the movie itself blows me away. Like for real. Like this was quite the experience...

I feel like I learned something. And I love the scenery, the cars; the characters of the 1950's too. I wonder if the language in the movie was as it really was back than. The accentuation. The grammar. It doesn't seem all that different from how it is now... maybe Steven changed it just enough to both make it authentic, but also to make it not all too strange from the lingo we speak today. To make you both feel at home, and to appreciate the times as they were, back then. As not too different, but very different, after all...

I love this movie. Need to watch a bit more of Steven's stuff - I really only know the most known ones.
