The Morricone Duel: The Most Dangerous Concert Ever (2018)

The Morricone Duel: The Most Dangerous Concert Ever (2018)

The Danish National Symphony Orchestra and the Danish National Concert Choir, led by conductor Sarah Hicks, perform selections from the films of Ennio Morricone and others.

Unnecessarily hype-inducing name maybe, but the music?

It's good. Some parts more than others, but it's a quality performance all the way, and the blue light plays nicely on the partakers of that stage...

Good show. Was expecting a LITTLE more action though, title considered.

Ninja (2009)

Ninja (2009)

I think the title on this one pretty much embodies the movie! It's about a ninja. It features ninjas. It's chockful of action sequences; vengeance and tasteful temple-like (sometimes literal temple) scenery.

Scott Adkins plays the main role, and is in killer shape, though the grunts and acting... not so much. The setting's cliché but the action's great.

The blood's realistic too.

It's atmospheric and cinematic, and the train fight in particular felt gritty great. What a date.

The sequels get all the more flashy, but this one's solid.

If you like the type you'll probably enjoy this.

Reactions, Rabbit Holes & Boden!

Post time's been sparse lately, but just so y'all know I'm living the life over here! For the most part. When I don't end up going down unhealthily long rabbit holes of reaction videos I thought I'd never see a reason to watch... but I understand now. I understand the appeal.

Seeing people get introduced to artists you enjoy is maybe a bit like reliving the experience of being introduced to them yourself. Back in the day.

It's nostalgic, and also gratifying how the things that resonate with you resonate with others, though at the same time what kind of world do we live in when we don't share such gratification first-hand, with people in our near vicinity? Instead we turn to strangers, who maybe have more charm and/or more tact in their reactions than people we know. Or just the time. To react in the first place. While we waste ours watching their reactions.

It's a strange phenomena isn't it?

Sometimes you learn a thing or two as well. Sometimes they catch nuances you didn't catch yourself. If you watch a specialist reaction you can for example learn how false vocal cords let the amazing Tatiana growl in Pisces, by Jinjer, or what the green color palette in NF's videos do to your mood, or how they manage so precise camera movements in Hopsin's recent videos (it's a Kira).

All this is plain and good but... I really will never understand how some people just watch other people play games. When they could play themselves. What's the point in watching a game?

I mean I hope I won't ever understand that. I hope I don't stumble into that rabbit hole too. I'm getting into more than enough rabbit holes lately.

I did however take a refreshing step away from all these sometimes so superficial aspects of the digital realm for a while, and visit good buddy Andreas up in Boden! After those intense B-day celebrations last week. To venture out in a winter we don't much have here, and catch some sunrays reflected on the massive scopes of snow they have up there. Like for real.

Here's me in Boden.

Double Walker (2021)

Double Walker (2021)

A young woman's ghost investigates the mysterious events that led to her own murder.

You might've seen this story done before. With 'The Wishing Bones', with 'White Out', with 'Afterlife of the Party', and a bundle of others in different ways... but this one's different after all. It's about a ghost who lives. A day as a human or a lifetime as a ghost - seen by only sinners and believers... which would you choose?

It took an unexpected I Spit On Your Corpse like turn with the first encounter. A vengeful one. But then this girl ghost meets a guy, who's not all like those others, and maybe her choice wasn't all that clear after all...

It starts a little bleak and empty, and I guess it ends that way more than any other, but it takes some turns before then. It builds.

They don't need a lot of words to turn me, just the journey, the upside down snow and that final song.

They won me over at the end. If only... things could've turned out a bit different after all.
